Boneset
(Eupathorium
altissimum
)

Boneset is
also called tall Joe-Pye weed. According to New
England tradition, Joe Pye was an Indian doctor who cured
typhus with a tincture of this plant. It is also used
as a poultice for sprains and bruises.
Boneset
prefers dry open areas like old grazed over fields.
The taste is apparently unattractive to cattle.
