Celebrate Urban Birds

Join us to Celebrate Urban Birds on Saturday, May 23 at Lakeside Nature Center from 10 am to 4 pm.  Take this opportunity to go outside and reconnect with Nature.

Activities include:

10 am bird walk with Staff Naturalist

Birding presentations every ½ hour

Learning stations

Plant a wildflower seed to take home

Bird crafts

Beginner’s birding trail

While supplies last, families will receive a Celebrate Urban Birds kit with poster and cool facts about birds they can use to recognize more commonly seen urban birds.

The Cornell Lab of Ornithology will collect data from events and individuals throughout the country.  Scientists hope to learn more about how birds survive in cities and how they use urban green spaces such as parks, rooftop gardens, and even potted plants on balconies for food, resting sites, and shelter.  Learn more about Celebrate Urban Birds at www.CelebrateUrbanBirds.org.
