Lakeside Nature Center is open year round. Naturalists present
innovative programs covering a broad range of ecological topics.
The Center exhibits wildlife native to the area and our programs
are designed to encourage interest in nature and the

Teachers or team leaders work with Naturalists to
design a wildlife
program and outdoor hike for their students.
Outdoor Learning Lab
is designed to complement and expand classroom studies about
the natural world. You, as the teacher or leader, choose
objectives that you would like to emphasize based upon
themes that we present to
customize the experience for your group.
Opportunities for Scouts include individualized
badge days, Webelo badges, Brownie Try-it and Girl Scouts
Wildlife badges.
Students
have said our
Homeschool Science Lab is awesome.
Scholars
meet one day a week for five to six
weeks. Each class lasts about
2 hours. Lots of hands-on activities and habitat exploration
help support their home studies. Classes are designed for
first through fifth grade students. Call

Summer
of Science Camp is perfect for the young naturalist 6-12
years old.
Mother Nature Reads each
Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m., Friends of Lakeside Nature
Center volunteers read a nature based story, provide a fun
craft, and show one of our resident animals to the children.
No fee, donations are welcome.
