Lakeside
Nature Center provides care for injured Missouri wildlife.
The Center is licensed by USDA and operates under permits
from both U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services and Missouri Department
of Conservation. Rehabilitation of native wildlife is accomplished
by specially trained staff and volunteers who are instructed
by volunteer veterinarians.
If
you find a wild animal in need of help, contact Lakeside Nature
Center at (816) 513-8960. Most times we will not have the resources
to pick up the animal, however, we can assist you over the
phone in determining whether the animal needs to be brought
into the Center and explain how to do so safely. See
How
to Help/What to Do.
Lakeside
Nature Center cares for thousands of wild animals annually
and volunteers give over 20,000 hours of service to help make
that happen. Friends of Lakeside Nature Center provides volunteers
and funds the cost of specialized formulas, medications and
special housing.
